Our Guiding Principles
- Independence: Our Editorial Team works separately from Forage’s business teams and does not receive direct compensation from our company partners. Forage’s partners do not influence or review the content that appears on the Forage blog.
- Accuracy: Our editors and writers take steps to vet and fact-check the information we present to you, ensuring articles are free of errors. The team is committed to correcting any inaccuracies that appear on the Forage blog in a timely manner.
- Expertise: Our Editorial Team consults diverse and reputable sources, including internal and external experts, industry reports, government data, surveys, and more, in its reporting. Our sources receive proper attribution to promote fairness and transparency.
- Inclusivity: Our editors and writers are committed to covering a complex, diverse world with empathy, equity, and sensitivity. The team considers all perspectives and is committed to amplifying voices that have been historically excluded.
How Forage Makes Money
Forage creates virtual job simulations that give you a chance to learn what it’s like to work at a company. We make money by charging our company partners to host these programs on our platform. Forage programs are always free to you. Learn more about Forage.
Editorial Process
In-house writers and editors with experience covering the careers, education,
and jobs space write Forage's blog articles and educational guides. Additional
members of our Editorial Team edit and fact-check all articles prior to
publication. To ensure these articles reflect our guiding principles:
- Our editors and writers adhere to the Society of Professional Journalists' Code of Ethics.
- When covering marginalized groups and communities, the team consults and follows the Diversity Style Guide.
- Forage uses AP Style to establish consistent rules for grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalization, abbreviations, acronyms, and more.
- When necessary, Forage writers and editors will consult with established, qualified third-party experts, including certified career coaches, HR professionals, trade association members, or other industry representatives. Writers and editors thoroughly vet all experts prior to publication.
The Editorial Team periodically reviews and updates Forage’s blog articles to reflect changes, industry trends, research, and findings. The most recent publication date appears at the top of each article.
